Central Indiana Cycling was formed from the merger of Bike Indianapolis and the Central Indiana Bicycling Association (CIBA) in 2025. Learn more on the About Us page.
Awesome! Whether you’re curious about joining as a new member, renewing your membership, or checking on your membership status, the place to start is the Membership page.
The Membership page lists the member benefit, has a FAQ section, and includes instructions on how to use the Supporter Portal.
Nope. Central Indiana Cycling is for all types of people who ride bikes. We represent bicycle commuters, workers getting to the bus stop on their bikes, family bike riders, beginners, experienced riders, and those out there multiple times a week on group training and fitness rides. Bikes (and trikes) are awesome for all of us!
Casual, slow roll, and neighborhood rides are usually folks just wearing normal everyday clothes appropriate for the weather.
Some of the faster and longer rides will have folks wearing aerodynamic tights and jerseys, as that makes sense for comfort and efficiency. Those longer, faster road rides will also be more often on road bikes, for similar reasons. You’ll find those ride here on the Fitness and Touring Rides page.
We strongly encourage bike helmets for all of your rides, and bike helmets are typically required on any fast group rides. Remember! Bike helmets have a shelf life (5 years), and if you’ve dropped or crashed your helmet, it should be replaced.
The Fitness and Touring Rides page would be where to start. These rides are longer and faster than the Slow Roll & Neighborhood Rides.
You should go to the Slow Roll and Neighborhood Ride page. This page includes rides that are on our radar in the region.
We send out an e-newsletter that goes out once and sometimes twice during busy months.
We also have sub-categories in our contact list for rides, events, interests, and volunteer opportunities that you can sign up for. These categories are used to send out focused emails and announcements about those rides and topics.
If you want to change or adjust your email subscription, you can do that by clicking on the Update Your Preferences link in any of the emails that we send you.
We have over 450 volunteers involved each year in many different roles and committees. Learn more on the Volunteer page.
From volunteer ride leaders, to Pedal and Park attendants, to the Advocacy Committee we need all sorts of skills, interests, and levels of time committment.
Thanks for being interested in volunteering! Volunteers are what keep us rolling.
