There’s no better time to start biking than today!

The Bike Buddy Program

Indianapolis and surrounding counties continue to create more bike trails making it even easier to get out and ride. But many of us haven’t ridden a bike since we were a kid. We have forgotten the joys of jumping on a bike and the freedom it provides. If you are hesitant to start riding, we encourage you to sign up for the Bike Buddy Program.

The Bike Buddy Program is a collaborative effort between Central Indiana Cycling and CIRTA/Commuter Connect. This free program allows cyclists of all backgrounds and levels to work one-on-one with an experienced cyclist. Your Bike Buddy will help you plan safe and efficient bike routes all over Central Indiana, share bicycling rules and regulations, and more! Learn more below about how to get matched with a Bike Buddy or, if you are an experienced cyclist, how you can become a Bike Buddy.

Become a Bike Buddy Mentor

Be the mentor you wish you had when you started riding. There’s a lot of joy in helping someone gain confidence in an area where they feel unsure, and having a hand problem-solving how to traverse the trickier parts of the city can make a big difference.

If you would like to become a Bike Buddy mentor, sign up below. All that is required is a one hour training held in late Spring.
