Streets with sharrows (shared lane markings) are not shown on the map. Sharrows have little to no impact on driver behavior or rider safety.

Route Types on the Map:

• Unprotected Bike Lane – Painted bike lane
• One Way Bike Lane – Painted bike lane
• Protected Bike Lane – Separated by a curb, bollards, or level-separated
• Greenway / Multi-Use Path – Following a rail corridor, river, or park route
• Unpaved Greenway – Stone dust or packed surface multiuse trails

Saben Nusbaum started with the 2024 Indy Bike Guide and went to various agencies and municipal sources to get updates for the 2026 Indy Bike Guide. Then Saben worked with the Advocacy Committee to review the map and make sure that the routes were correct.

The 2026 Indy Bike Guide will be printed on a larger map than 2024, in part because there are more bike routes to show -including links to the wider Indy region. The 2026 map will be about the size of a cell phone when folded.
