Brandon Breedlove was among those struck by a drunk driver at the intersection of College Avenue and Massachusetts Avenue. Central Indiana Cycling helped organize a protest where we held a moment of silence for Brandon and called on the City of Indianapolis to take action at this intersection and elsewhere. We also called for more funding and transparency.

As a result, an additional $80,000 was allocated to this intersection for permanent changes happening in Summer 2026. Additionally, for the first time, Vision Zero Taskforce meetings included public comment.

Central Indiana Cycling and Health by Design organized a memorial walk along Raymond Street, which was a hotspot for serious and fatal crashes in 2025. Along the way, we stopped at the locations of deaths and serious injuries, held vigils for the victims, and erected memorials for them. The walk was well attended by City-County Councilors, the public, and the media.

The cycling community came together to honor Dillan Lee Rogers, who was fatally struck by a person driving under the influence of marijuana in the crosswalk of the I-65S Exit onto Raymond Street. Dillan was doing everything right and had the right of way.
